Our upcoming Groups and events

After hugely popular first sessions, Liberate is hosting Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) again on 5th July 2026 from 2-5pm at the Chamber of Commerce (in the Market Buildings). We are planning to put more on after this!

FREE TO ATTEND, 18+

Flynn is our Dungeon Master (DM). The campaign we are using is the beginner-friendly 2024 D&D 5E (not 2014 5E, there are slight differences). No worries if you’re not at all familiar with this!

We have a Whatsapp chat to plan character creation, and so Flynn can explain what to expect and answer any questions.

Due to demand, our last two sessions were split so that we’re now running alternate groups each week (i.e. Group A is running on week one, and Group B in week two).

There is still some space in Group B if anybody still wants to join! Please contact hello@liberate.gg if you want to know how to get involved :)

⚧️🏳️‍⚧️ Trans+ Guernsey Get Together 🏳️‍⚧️⚧️ It’s an informal chat in a safe space on the first Tuesday of each month from 6pm to 7.30pm.

All under the Trans+ umbrella welcome! ☂️ Including Genderqueer (GQ), Gender Non-Conforming (GNC), Non-Binary (NB) & Questioning peeps, and people who do not use labels!

Queer yoga sessions are here in Guernsey! 🧗🌈🏳️‍⚧️ In La Villiette’s gorgeous, newly refurbished studio space 🤩

Relax into a non-judgemental, inclusive yoga session with AliceYoga, open to complete beginners right up through to experienced yogis.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Erica Skyberg is thirty-five years old, recently divorced—and trans. Not that she’s told anyone yet. Mitchell, South Dakota, isn’t exactly bursting with other trans women. Instead, she keeps to herself, teaching by day and directing community theater by night. That is, until Abigail Hawkes enters her orbit.

Abigail is seventeen, Mitchell High’s resident political dissident and Only Trans Girl. It’s a role she plays faultlessly, albeit a little reluctantly. She’s also annoyed by the idea of spending her senior year secretly guiding her English teacher through her transition. But Abigail remembers the uncertainty—and loneliness—that comes with it. Besides, Erica isn’t the only one struggling to shed the weight of others’ expectations.

As their unlikely friendship evolves under the increasing scrutiny of their community, both women—and those closest to them—will come to realize that sometimes there is nothing more radical than letting the world see who you really are.

ABOUT THE PRINCESS AND THE GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

Lady Camembert wants to live life on her own terms, without marriage. Well, without marrying a man, that is. But the law of the land is that women cannot inherit. ABOUT GENDER QUEER

In 2014, Maia Kobabe, who uses e/em/eir pronouns, thought that a comic of reading statistics would be the last autobiographical comic e would ever write. At the time, it was the only thing e felt comfortable with strangers knowing about em. Now, Gender Queer is here. Maia’s intensely cathartic autobiography charts eir journey of self-identity, which includes the mortification and confusion of adolescent crushes, grappling with how to come out to family and society, bonding with friends over erotic gay fanfiction, and facing the trauma of pap smears.

Started as a way to explain to eir family what it means to be nonbinary and asexual, Gender Queer is more than a personal story: it is a useful and touching guide on gender identity—what it means and how to think about it—for advocates, friends, and humans everywhere.

ABOUT THE BOOK

You can fall in love with an outline, you can even make a home with one, but there will come a time where you can’t deny the bones their flesh. A person is no fewer than two things.

Thirty years old with a lifetime of dysphoria and irritating exes rattling around in her head, Max is plagued by a deep dissatisfaction. Shouldn’t these be the best years of her life? Why doesn’t it feel that way? After taking a spill down the stairs at a New Year’s Eve party, she decides to make some changes. First: a stab at good old-fashioned heteronormativity.

Max thinks she’s found the answer in Vincent. While his corporate colleagues, trad friends, and Chinese parents never pictured their son dating a trans woman, he cares for Max in a way she’d always dismissed as a foolish fantasy. But he is also carrying baggage of his own. When the fall-out of a decades-old entanglement resurfaces, Max must decide what forgiveness really means. Can we be more than our worst mistakes? Is it possible to make peace with the past?
