Channel Islands Pride

Channel Islands Pride is run by Liberate in both Guernsey and Jersey. #CIPride is held in Guernsey on alternate years and it is the largest free community event in Guernsey with around 8,000 people attending each year!

Channel Islands Pride was born out of a protest for same sex marriage laws to be introduced. Our first Pride happened in Jersey in 2015 and then Guernsey in 2016. Since then the islands have taken it in turns to host Channel Islands Pride.

We’ve come a long way since the first Pride, however it’s important to remember that there is still more to be done. While we love the glitter and rainbows, Pride also delivers a serious message about the importance of inclusion and providing a safe environment for islanders to express their true selves without discrimination.
