The Rainbow Chorus took part in Guernsey’s Eisteddfod at the end of February and came a remarkable second place in their category with a huge score of 90 marks.

For a choir which only started 12 months ago, this is massive recognition of the hard work and dedication of the whole choir. In fact they impressed the adjudicator so highly it was a close battle at the top with the winners only scoring 4 marks over our own choir.
Competing against experienced entries from across the bailiwick the choir put on a fantastic performance made up of three songs, “Shut up and dance”, “This is me” and “I can’t help falling in love with you”. With their own band (the only choir with one) and of course decked out in their fabulous rainbow coloured tops, kindly sponsored by our friends at the Thomas de La Rue, the choir really brought the Beau Sejour theatre to life with the colours of their shirts (and probably all the glitter) reflecting off the stage and creating a rainbow on the ceiling!
There’s no time to sit around and relax though. Now its full steam ahead to start rehearsing their set for Channel Island pride taking part in September. No rest for the wicked!
The choir are always ready to welcome new members from the local LGBTQ+ community and allys.
