Islanders in Jersey have held a vigil to remember those who killed in the Orlando gay nightclub massacre.
Victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting were remembered in St Helier at a vigil last night. You can read more at the ITV News website.
Organised by Liberate, the vigil joined islanders with others around the world to honour the 49 dead and many injured victims of the shooting.
Chair of Liberate, Pippa McCathie, said
“The news of the tragic attack at a gay club in Orlando makes me righteously angry, but that’s not all, it makes me want to work harder to combat the hatred and inform and educate those who still feel that hatred.
Don’t be pulled down by these awful events. Make use of them to redouble your efforts to spread our message that we are all equal, whatever our gender, sexuality or race.“
