We want to say a massive THANKYOU to everyone who came along yesterday (despite the rain) and helped make Guernsey’s first ever Pride such a success!

The day started at 2pm in Candie Gardens with people assembling to listen to music, meet each other, and generally admire the colourful costumes. People had travelled from Jersey, the UK and from further afield for the event.
It was a shame about the weather, but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.

The parade moved off just after 3.30pm, the Samba Burros leading, carrying our super long rainbow flag through the streets of St Peter Port. It was a lovely happy atmosphere, with many people lining the route, despite the weather, clapping, waving and cheering.
The parade ended at Market Square where further entertainment was laid on, going on into the evening.
The atmosphere in Market Square was electric and it looked like everyone was having the time of their lives – this was truly an historic event.

It’s not over yet – CI Pride week is continuing with movie nights in Guernsey on Wednesday and Thursday and kicking off in Jersey before they close out the week with their Pride on Saturday – we’ll see many of you there! #CIPride #UnitedThroughPride
Thank you once again to the Co-Operative Society for their sponsorship. Without them, none of this would have been possible.
