The Committee for Health and Social Care is seeking to amend Guernsey’s laws, which at the moment, only give single people or married couples the ability to adopt a child.
Since equal marriage was introduced in Guernsey in early May, same-sex married couples are now eligible to adopt. However, there are calls to allow a wider range of families to adopt, including unmarried couples and civil partners.
