Alderney has taken a step towards introducing Same-Sex Marriage.
The Policy and Finance Committee agreed to support the law being drafted when they met in February.
The new legislation will need to be taken to the Privy Council for ratification, and is expected to take a year or more to come into force.
Policy and Finance committee chairman, James Dent, said that the law’s introduction would show that Alderney was forward looking. There was even talk of the introduction of Civil Partnerships for straight couples.
