The Hub recently ran their first inclusion day. The purpose of the session was to hear from young people, and their family members, who may identify themselves as members of one or more minority groups, such as young carers, black ethnic groups and LGBTQ.
A number of people went along to the first session and provided some positive feedback and suggestions as to what support and help they might need. Ellie Jones from Liberate attended and joined in with the discussions.
The Hub is starting regular inclusion sessions this month, the first being for black minority ethnic groups. The next session will be for young carers. Sessions will run weekly at first and then tailored to fit the needs of each group.
The Hub’s Laura Sweeney said that there was a lot of interest on social media as well as people actually going along to the session.
